No pictures

I've been trying to get some pictures of the kids up here, but I'm having some trouble with my camera. Somehow the settings got messed up and I don't know how to fix it. They were all super dark for a bunch of them and I got that fixed miraculously, but now they are all just blurry and I'm frustrated with it! I missed some awesome photo moments, too. So, I guess I just have to write them even though its so not as cool as pictures :(

Lucy and Owen were dancing around my house the other day. Lucy had Mickey mouse underwear on her head as well as a princess dress on terribly wrong with her legs through the wrong holes and everything. Owen had on a pink tutu dress over pajamas and a princess hat, dancing with Boyd's Transformer. It was a really funny moment... they looked "special."

Daisy found her toes recently and its really cute how she holds on her feet and laughs and entertains herself for a little while. She also squeals now when she's happy. Its a cute little squeal, not like Lucy's pierce-your-brain kind. She's the sweetest little thing ever!

Happy (late) Father's day!

First, I will start with a Happy Father's Day to the father of my children. I love this picture of my very cool, guitar hero man! Ken is such a good dad to our crazy kids. I am very often surprised (in a good way, of course) about Ken's patience and devotion to our children. I sometimes get to the end of my sanity and Ken will step in and turn those stressful moments around for me. Even if its just taking a turn with a screaming or sick kid, sometimes our kids just need their dad to make things better. Our kids are very lucky to have that kind of dad, and I'm also lucky and very grateful for his help and level of involvement in our kids' lives.

Next, of course, is a Happy Father's Day to my own dad. He's not a blog reader type and probably won't ever read this, but I'm very grateful to my dad for raising me. He's always been a hard working guy, and can fix just about everything. One of the cool things about him is how patient he was with us kids "helping" with building, repairs and misc. projects. He was always willing to help us figure out how to do things. Although I inherited my dad's shyness and some funny quirks, hopefully I also picked up on some of that patience and learned from his good examples of working hard and showing love for his kids and grand kids.

Happy late Father's Day everyone!

crazy summer school fun

I love the old classic fun activities like play-doh and Mr. Potato Head. They never get old. I remember doing the very same funny creations over 20 years ago. We made snakes and snowmen and monsters and cool rocks (that was Boyd and Owen's favorite today) out of play-doh. Its nice to have an activity for 2 year olds to 9 year olds that is still cool.
Lucy, of course, made tiny things with hers. My favorite was her tiny "snow mommy" and "snow Sucy." Basically little pieces of dough stacked together.
The kids also loved the "Darth Tater" potato head pieces. Boyd thought Mia was pretty hilarious as Darth. And Daisy had fun watching all the kids play and laughing out loud. Even she knows how weird these kids are.
Notice anything odd about Owen's Storm Trooper?
Lucy kept saying, "How bout picture of me?" Funny little girl.

Happy Anniversary!

Ken and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary yesterday! Crazy how the time goes... 7 years and 3 kids later and here we are. Hooray for us! We even still like each other most of the time :)

Happy anniversary, Ken! You're my best friend ever and I love you always! Here's to 7 years and 7 more and 7 more and 7 more after that and so on!

She's alive!

Lucky little poop!
I might get a little whiny on this one, so you can skip it if you want.

Over the last maybe 6 months, Tweeky has lost about half her weight. She was quite a fat little thing ever since we saved her about 6 years ago. That was the first time she got lucky. Tweek was about to be put to her death by her previous owner for her little back end trouble- she doesn't have a tail, consequently doesn't always make it in the litter box. Usually its not such a big deal, we put puppy pads in front of the box and occasionally had to help her clean her bum. The big problem is since her weight loss, she has some bouts with diarrhea and vomiting. It ends up everywhere in our house. I really hate scrubbing crap out of the carpets.

One of the times was while I was in the hospital with Daisy, Ken took her in to the vet and got an anti-parasite med, in case it was that. Then, 2 days ago was an especially bad one. We let her clean our plates the night before of spaghetti (she loves it so much), but it was all over the house in pukes and squishy poo. I made another appointment for the vet, hoping it would be her last stop ever. Tweek lost another pound since the last vet visit a few months ago. This time the vet thinks the cat is allergic to regular cat food and table scraps. Uuuugghhh... so we have to buy her some expensive kind of cat food and separate the cats for feeding twice a day... no more table scraps either. This cat won't leave us alone about people food, no matter what it is, she's up in our eating business and won't shutup until our plates are lilcked clean by her. I've been trying not to be completely heartless, but I hate this cat so much! Especially since I have 3 kids in diapers too! I'm up to my eyeballs in crap everyday. This morning I woke up to Tweek's weight in cat puke all over the freshly cleaned carpet that I'll have to clean again today. I tell ya, this is one lucky little piece of poo cat... she's lucky I don't follow through with my plan of tossing her out the window or feeding her to the blind lady's dog next door every time I clean up after her. If the new pricey food doesn't settle with Tweek in the next 6 weeks, according to the vet, then we can do more tests on her. Oh, that sounds fun... we'll see if she survives that.

Daisy's growing up

I just bought this jump up contraption for baby Daisy, now that she can hold her own head up and gets bored sometimes. She didn't quite get the point of this thing yet, but she looks awfully big and always cute in there. Lucy is so jealous! "I wanna get in there!" She did finally settle for me letting her put Minnie mouse in it.
Daisy wants to sit up so bad. I set her up and she held up for a few seconds.
Then she started folding forward in half. What a fun trick! She's turning into a funny little baby. She is also starting to play a game with me; she looks at me and I turn away, then I look at her and she looks away and laughs, and so on. I can't believe she's growing up so fast. Daisy's just the best baby, I want her to stay little like this forever!

Ammo for the teenage years

Jenna gave me this picture of Ken and a few others like it when we were dating. The caption said, "He thinks this outfit is cool."
See any resemblence?

Why do parents think its so funny to document some potentially embarrassing moments in their kids' lives? Because we plan on showing these funny pictures to their boyfriends or girlfriends as payback for the kids' naughtiness. Ha haa! The thought makes me laugh! Probably won't happen, but there is always the threat... maybe that will keep them in line for the future. Jenna, feel free to take this one of Owie in a dress... too bad I missed the princess hat and gloves, that would be much funnier. I had to get a picture of Daisy rolling over... she did just happen to be nakie with her bum in the air. I think I even have one of Boyd just like it, but the naked on the potty with big shoes picture takes the cake! Is that wrong to think its so funny? I was lucky to be the 6th child in that way because of the lack of childhood embarrassing pictures... I do have some pretty awful teen and adult pictures, though. Hmmm... maybe for another day.

Cleanin' away

We're thinking of getting moved into a bigger place sometime soon, since we are starting to outgrow our condo and its supposed to be a good time to get a deal. Ken put up an ad online just to see if anyone was interested right away. Starting at 8am we got a billion calls from realtors wanting to sell the place for us. They really must be desperate for work... and they were trying to be tricky too pretending to be interested buyers or just taking a "quick survey." Lame! I am not good with pushy sales people. I had a heck of a time getting them off the phone. Finally, we got one call of a real interested buyer that came by tonight to look at the place. I spent all day cleaning and re-cleaning up after the kids. Daisy is the best help, since she can't make too much of a mess yet and she's always eager to smile and keep me company with her cute cooing. So, wish us some good luck that we can sell our place and find a good house to buy, too!
