New bikes!

It was a pretty warm day out today and yesterday. Boyd is finally interested in riding a bike for the first time in years, but the one he has is way too small. Yesterday he wanted to ride that little trike over to the park down the street and it took him about 30 minutes to get there because he was struggling so much hitting his knees on the bars and getting stuck. But, he actually made it without giving up or throwing a tantrum! So, we went over to Walmart last night and got a cool new spider man big boy bike for Boyd and a princess bike for Lucy. I should have had a video camera at the store while they were riding around. Boyd was pretty shaky to
start out, but pretty soon he rode around the aisles ten times by himself with no trouble. Lucy still hasn't gotten the hang of her bike alone, but I'm glad she's got all spring and summer to ride.

Happy Birthday, Daiser!

Today is officially Daisy's one year old birthday! It is so amazing what happens in one year. Daisy is such a beautiful, sweet girl and we are just thrilled to have her around. Daisy weighs about 23 lbs, has 7 teeth, crawls like a champ, but not so interested in walking yet. She just learned to waive bye-bye, play peek-a-boo and Pat-a-cake. She loves to say Mom, Dada, uh-oh, wow, what, baba, jojo, and sometimes papa. Daisy loves attention and being in the middle of the action, she loves to entertain everyone with her fake sneezes, squeals and funny faces.

Cold park day

It looked a lot warmer outside than it really was today, but we took it anyway. The park is just down the street and the kids love to be able to just walk there. Boyd was being especially sweet with Lucy. He wanted her to get in the "whale" thing with him, and hold hands and call her "sweetie." That's a true rare moment that makes me almost cry, what sweet kids!

There was a little boy at the park a little bigger than Daisy- Boyd called him "other Daisy." Boyd told me to take pictures of the boy and give hugs to him, but the other mother might think I was a creep if I did that, so we settled on just one picture with Boyd and they could play together for a few minutes.

I also got some cute new shoes for $9 on Saturday. The last new pair of shoes I bought was at least 2 years ago.

January summary

A couple exciting things happened this last month. Boyd got into school, Lucy into a dance class and Daisy is almost one! We found out we are getting a temple built right by our house! Last Saturday we got a new kitty. We still haven't picked a name for him, so for now he is called the "new baby kitten" by Lucy, and "the boy kitty" by Boyd. Daisy likes to chase him and growl.

Daisy's been so funny lately. She pulls the weirdest faces all the time. Her newest trick is to play Pat-a-cake; she claps and shakes her arms and puts them up. She's a doll!

Boyd has discovered shoveling snow. We did get him a kid sized one, but here he is doing a pretty good job getting a shovel full of snow and transferring it. We are also working on the potty training again this week. He's making some real progress, we're hoping it will continue.

Lucy is still our sweet drama queen! She is loving her dance class. The second and third week went really great, she follows along well and looks forward to it all week. We also started doing some home preschool with her cousins, Sarah and Rebecca. We've been to the library a few times for story time and we've done some fun school activities switching between our house and aunt Kelly's.
