My silly kids

Lucy told me she wanted me to take pictures of her "cute bum and face" What a weirdo! She was being quite silly tonight, just making weird faces, singing funny songs, dancing like Goofy, and watching "Scooby Goo." Lucy loves to sing the Happy Family song all day, inserting the names of every person she knows at least 42 times each. She also likes to sing "Some Bean" (Sunbeam). One of the funniest things Lucy does is when she's drawing and I ask her to clean up or get in bed, she glares at me while drawing a frowny face really hard on the magna doodle toy. Lucy's current funny word is noodles. It sounds a little more like "waddles."

Daisy started doing a funny thing where she scrunches her nose and breathes loud. I can't really explain it, but it cracks me up. Boyd used to do the very same thing at her age.

Boyd is so excited to start school. He's been ready to go all week. He packed his backpack and carried it everywhere and wouldn't stop talking about school. Today was his open house at school. Last night I told him no school unless he gets in bed and he jumped right in and was out cold in seconds. This morning I woke him up and he dressed himself, got socks and shoes on and was ready as fast as can be. When we drove up to the school, he started getting nervous. He didn't want to go into his class for a while, but finally warmed up when it was time to go, of course. He starts on Monday and I think he'll do really well again. He has the same teacher as last year, too.

Half a year

Baby Daisy is already 6 months old! I can't even believe it. She's such a little sweetheart, but she's found her screamy voice recently and likes to use it in the night now. I hope that little naughty phase passes up soon. Daisy can sit up pretty well now, with just a few falls here and there. She absolutely loves to watch Boyd and Lucy play and she thinks they are so funny. Boyd always calls her "baby girl" and Lucy calls her "baby Dais." Boydie is especially sweet to her and Lucy is finally catching on to really liking her sister. How can she resist the constant smiles and belly laughs? Daisy also started eating real food and loves everything we have given her so far.
She had some yummy Smokehouse mashed potatoes last night for dinner- I couldn't feed it fast enough and she almost ate the whole thing. Little piggy!

snakes and snails

Today the kids begged me to make some rolls. Its been a while, especially since its hot out. Boyd and Lucy love helping pour in the ingredients. Today they decided to form rolls in the play-doh style. They are into making snakes and snails. I told them after we cook it, we can eat these snakes and snail bread. Lucy said, "Eww no, no that's crazy!" She cracks me up.

Lucy's birthday

My big girl is now 3 years old! Does this mean she's out of the terrible twos? I don't know, we'll have to see. She's been a real big sweetheart today so far and that makes me happy! Her new cooking and dishes toys are a big hit around here. Lucy and Boyd have been playing nicely together since they woke up! They have been making each other pretend meals and pouring water in the cups. I let them take some dishes in the bath tub also, and they loved making "soap soup." (Try saying that 5 times fast.) They want to eat real food on the dishes too, which is a little annoying, but at least they are eating and they are just so darn cute.
