Yes or No?

I have been cutting Daisy's bangs since she was a tiny baby. Usually it looks like a blind monkey cut them for me because she is so wiggly and her hair is fine and straight so every snip is obvious. Last year, I grew out Lucy's bangs and I think she looks better that way. How about Daisy? Bangs or no bangs?

Weird kids and finished project

I love it when all three kids play happily together! It is a really rare occurrence, but very sweet! I think Daisy is the weirdest kid I know, and poor girl, it looks like she's getting her mama's crooked teeth. She growled at Papa last night for no reason and then laughed! Last night after we put Boyd and Lucy to bed, they kept getting up a few times and then about an hour after that Ken found them in their closet covered in stickers and all the books off their shelf. They were having a great time, they were quiet and smiling proud of their sticker placement. Boyd asked us why WE weren't in bed. Naughty kids, but how could we be mad at our sweet, happy, good playing monkeys? Good thing it is a holiday today so we could sleep in a little bit.

On a different note, I finished Boyd's blanket on Saturday! Woohoo! I'm kinda proud of myself, I started the binding on Friday night and hand sewed for hours and hours like a crazy person for a day and finished (with really sore fingers). Boyd was really excited to have a new blanket for his bed and he wanted to show everyone. It was so worth it to make him happy! Boyd took the picture for me.

Questions

1. The TV show/website that I watch/read that I would be embarrassed to tell anyone about is Sometimes I watch Glee, even though I sort of hate it how stupid and trashy it is, I keep turning it on.
2. An item of clothing that is worn and torn but that I love far to much to throw away is my BYU shorts that I stole from P.E. class over 11 years ago. They have bleach, paint, and other random stains, but I just can't spend money on new junk shorts.
3. My grocery store impulse buy is: gum at the checkout- especially the pink ones Lucy picks out and sometimes just little things for the kids.
4. Something I do to pass time. Reading a lot, playing dumb games on my phone, look at blogs, facebook
5. One thing in my life that I could give up, but never will is ice cream
6. A little indulgence that I have is watching the Biggest Loser while eating candy or ice cream :)
7. The junk drawer/area in my house The kitchen cabinet and drawer with art supplies/ misc stuff and the toy closet are the hardest places to keep organized.
NOW go ahead and blog these questions. I am excited to read your answers.

Happy Birthday Daiser Doodle!!

2 years ago today, we welcomed Daisy Nora Martin into our family. Hello world!!
She was a gorgeous little thing... 6lbs. 11 oz. with a full head of beautiful brown hair.
Daisy was the best baby we ever had. Slept so well, ate well, and hardly ever cried.
She just kept growing too fast...
And getting a little sassier...
And weirder...

Now she's our sweet, terrible two year old!!! Love you Daisy!!

Princesses

Daisy got a cute princess tent for her birthday and she and Lucy have been playing in it for hours of fun. Its so great when they play together so nice and they can play the same game over and over still laughing hysterically at the same part.
Daisy is such a crack up! It doesn't even make sense how Peek-a-boo is still the funniest game to her.
This is her reaction every time! Crazy girl, I can't believe she's so big now, with such a huge personality! I just love her to pieces!
Daisy was really proud of putting her tutu on her pony. "Pony pee-ee! Ha haaa!"

Daiser Doodle's party

Little Daisy is a big 2 year old! Well, not yet, but we had her party last night!
She got her own pink ice cream cake. Mmmmmm...
She looks thrilled, huh? She wasn't quite sure about us all singing to her.
She cheered up a little after she blew out the candles.
And then she got to eat her cake.

What a little grump! Daisy did not want to be the center of attention for presents, so Boyd got to open her cards and most of the wrapping for her. She's turning out to be a little drama princess already.

After a little while Daisy was so happy to have her new pretty "Necks (necklace), Peese (purse), headband, skirt, and princess tent! What a lucky girl!

Boydie's Stitches

I sure hated to get that phone call from Boyd's teacher on Thursday that told me Boyd got hurt at school and I needed to come get him. I was glad Ken hadn't left for work yet, so he was able to come. When we got to his school we were expecting to hear our screaming kid throughout, but he was calm and just holding a bloody paper towel next to his eye. We took one look and said, oh dear he needed stitches for sure and went straight to the instacare. We couldn't believe how good Boyd was! He didn't cry at all and sat completely still through the whole process and the doctor and nurses were just in awe at this tough kid.
Of course we didn't think of taking a before picture, but this is the same day.
Poor Lucy was just dying for some attention, but she was still a sweet thing worrying about her brother while he was getting stitched up.
This morning it looks a bit worse because of the bruising, but he said it doesn't hurt anymore. He keeps talking about how he is so brave and strong. It is true, Boyd is AMAZING!

My reading list

I've been trying to read a lot more lately and mostly catch up on some classic literature I've never read. I love having the free downloaded books on my iphone so I can read in bed in the dark- its the best. I've gotten tons of suggestions to what I should read next, and hope to get to them all sometime soon, but I have to either borrow the book or get the public domain ones because the Payson library stresses me out- I have never successfully checked out a book for myself there and I don't have even one moment to spare looking for one while I have the 3 kids and one of the ladies was super rude to me twice. I'm proud of my little reading list of the books I've read in the last couple of months. They were all really good and I enjoyed them so much! Here's my list with some super deep thought reviews to go along (not really, but I don't want to bore you too much).

The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (Really fun book, I liked each different chapter story and the smart hero)
The Scarlet Letter (This one I thought had some long boring descriptions, but good moral story)
Peter Pan (Really sweet book, I loved all the description of Wendy's mother, Barrie must've had a tender heart)
Pride and Prejudice (Really great chick book)
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn (I love the subtle wisdom of Mark Twain)
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland (Short read, cute and clever)
The Count of Monte Cristo (Loved it so much- one of my favorites!)
Hunger Games (Both these 2 I read in about 1 day each, they were unexpected and fun)
Catching Fire
Now reading: The Narnia Chronicles (On Prince Caspian) I borrowed from my sister. So far so good :), I even got to read a little bit while holding my sick Daiser today. Poor baby said "Ow Head!" a few times and fell asleep on and off for a few hours this afternoon. I wasn't able to get very much done today because of it, but I was glad to have some good baby snuggles. I just can't even believe my baby is going to be 2 next week!

Wanna see how cool I am?

I'm a little bit proud of myself, and my awesomeness... and I'm humble too! Ha haa haa! No, really I am taking some sewing lessons from my stepmom because she is the master and has all the cool sewing stuff and a room full of fabric she let me choose some for few fun projects. This one I started on is for Boyd's bed. I haven't really ever sewn before and Joanne gave me a simple pattern for making a strip quilt. You cut 5 inch pieces of fabric and batting and sew both sides together at once (its reversible, too, how cool is that?). I've got almost the whole thing done- I need 2 more strips and then I can learn how to bind the thing. Hooray! So far I haven't screwed it up too bad (just stand back and squint a little bit). I am sewing on Ken's grandma's old sewing machine and it's doing pretty well, although I have broken 2 needles in a very short period of time and I don't think that is normal.

I'm super excited about making some useful and cute things. I already have material picked out for the girls' beds and I will make the same type of blanket, but adding a ruffle-y piece in the middle (I forgot what its called). I think it will be really cute with pink floral and polka dots, how could it not really? Then I will decide how to paint the kids' rooms too. It is really weird that I haven't painted one thing since we've been in our house. I feel the painting bug coming on and I can't wait to pick out some colors and draw some murals and have a couple of cute kid rooms.

Pretty girls

All day I hear "Peee-eee!" It takes a few minutes to decipher if Daisy really means "pee" or if she means "pretty." Usually its pretty, because she has put on necklaces or shoes or a purse. She's definitely a girly girl and she's so cute about it.
Daisy has a really weird posing face, but what can ya do? She says "cheese" just with a little crooked mouth. I still think she's cute.

Daisy can't get all the attention, of course. Lucy is a most excelled poser and I think she can hear the camera click open from across the house because she always comes running.
