Christmas recap

We got so much snow the beginning of last week! For a fairly warm weekend, we were lucky to keep some of it for Christmas.
Christmas Eve we made some sugar cookies for Santa. We all had a fun time helping.
I made the cutest snowmen out of mini marshmallows, fruit rollup scarves, sprinkle faces, and a chocolate chip hat. We were all giggly (mostly me) about how fricken' cute they turned out.
We left some cute cookies for Santa and took some to our Christmas Eve dinner at 5 Star BBQ. I was in a bit of a rush to get there on time, so no pics, but we had a really great time with family and had some awesome food with pork chops, mashed tatoes and gravy, green bean casserole, rolls and squash and treats.
When we got home I told the kids they could open 1 present. I just assumed they knew it was pajamas, Lucy had a little melt down because she was expecting a toy. (Nice face, huh?)
Boyd was really happy with his "pirate jammies" he wanted to wear them for days in a row.

Christmas morning we could hear Boyd and Lucy squeal when they came up the stairs. Ken stayed up until 5 am getting everything done, so we were pretty lucky to have the kids wake up around 9am. Lucy told me she won't cry about any more presents and she was quite happy and sweet the rest of the day.
Lucy said her favorite toys were the Rapunzel barbie and tv.
Daisy didn't even want to open other presents because she was too busy watching Snow White on her own tv. I can't believe I didn't get a good picture or video of Boyd- he squealed and hugged all of his presents, but his favorite was the new Toy Story Wii game. This year was really the first time he was excited and happy about Christmas. Sounds weird, but in the past years he was just too easily overwhelmed and ended having a hard time. We are really proud of how sweet, thankful and happy Boyd was for most of the day.

After our house, we headed over to Papa and Grandma's house for an awesome Christmas feast and for the last of the presents. The grandkids all got paper and markers plus one specific toy in a box. Lucy saw everyone get their paper and markers part, so when she opened hers she started to throw a fit "I don't want the same thing!" and in the same breath she saw a pony wii game and completely turned it around "I LOVE my present!" and squealed and hugged it. Little weirdo!

We hope you all had a great Christmas! We sure did!

Christmas Queen

I'm so lucky, the Christmas dresses from last year still fit my girls! I think they looked pretty adorable for church yesterday. I had to talk Lucy into wearing hers because she is kinda crazy about the feel of her clothes lately and it isn't the most comfortable. Lucy put on a different dress and was wearing Boyd's pirate accessories (and she really thought I'd let her go to church like that). I told her she gets to be the Christmas queen like the Lucy on Charlie Brown's Christmas show if she put it on and she agreed.
Daisy was really excited to dress up pretty. She's such a girlie girl and she kept saying "I pretty!" Another funny thing is the dresses have some fur around the arms she calls "cat arm" and she kept stroking it and saying "Meow!"

Cute kitty and funny kids

Homer has been sleeping under the covers all morning. What else are ya going to do on a snowy Saturday morning? I wish!

This morning I was singing with Daisy because that's what she loves to do the most lately. She has the cutest little singing voice and she's so funny! She's a real smart little girl, I'm surprised at all the words to songs she knows. She cracks me up so much listening to her funny words and trying to fit in the big kids' conversations.

I keep meaning to write down all of Daisy's funny words. Here's a few I can remember right now:

Jee-oosth: Orange juice (if you want to make her nuts say "apple juice?" and she will yell "no no no Appo!!"
Bobbo: bottle
Bate: Blanket
Butt-butt: Stuck
Bappo: diaper
Bappies: wipes
Ee-yo: cereal

Lucy has a couple funny ones, too. I heard her playing with her toys and she told her kitty "you can't wear SLIP SLOPS in the snow or your toes will freeze off!"
This morning she was singing Farmer in the Dell, and she sang "I know the berry yo...!"

Happy Birthday to Me!

I can't believe I'm 29 today! I used to think that was old! I'm not sure how I feel about it, not bad I guess.

Yesterday the weather was really mild and no snow anywhere. This morning when I got up, there was SO MUCH SNOW! I had to shovel my way out of the driveway to get Lucy to school, and it took me about 30 mins to get her one block away to her preschool and I couldn't make the van go up the hill.  Boyd told me he had a tummy ache and I wasn't sure if he was really sick or just didn't want to go. I just got a letter from his school saying he was absent 8 times this year. That seems like a lot of days he missed. I'm really glad I did let him stay home today, though, because he definitely had a tummy ache and the worst diarrhea. Too much info, I'm sure, but he didn't quite make it to the potty a couple of times and I'm still working on cleaning the carpets and bathroom. Ew.

I'm going out tonight with my hubby. I'm excited to get out of the poo house, hooray!

Pretty "Gusting"

I made some ginger snap cookies yesterday for some treats to pass out. Lucy was a great helper and really excited about it. When the cookies were done she tried one and then spit it out, "Ew, mom gross! Are you really going to give these to people?"
Later, she was handing a plate to someone and told them, "Merry Christmas! We made these, but they're pretty gusting!" (Disgusting, in case you don't speak Lucy). What a sweet, honest girl!

Oh Christmas tree!

It's about time we got our Christmas tree this year! Last night after Ken got home, we ran over to get a tree. The kids were pretty excited about it.
We got a tree last year just days before Christmas because we were moving in. We went to the only place in Payson- I think its called Davis Auto detailing. It was pretty neat how they drilled up the bottom of the tree and put the stand on for us. So all we have to do is bring it inside and just set it up.
Ken was the light master this year. That's the worst job and it takes so long.
Poor Boydie fell asleep before we got to the ornaments.
Lucy and Daisy were way too spazzy, I couldn't even get a decent picture of them decorating the tree, but Lucy got to put the angel on top.

I like it a lot! Now that we are all decorated, it feels like Christmas at home! It's so weird that we've been in our house almost one year now! I still love it.

Snisneyland!

(Really long post, sorry!)
Lucy finally learned to say it right, but I still love her wrong words so much. We had a great opportunity to go to Disneyland over the weekend with Ken's awesome company! We had a great time!
We got up at 3am on Friday morning to make it to the airport on time.
The kids were so excited! We got family Digicert t-shirts (try saying that 5 times fast).
We started the day off with a nice long line to the Dumbo ride.

The carousel was pretty fun, then we were off to the Teacups.

Daisy fell asleep several times in the stroller and was totally thrown off her sleeping schedule.

Lucy was excited to meet Minnie Mouse, but Daisy only wanted to see her from a distance.
Disneyland was crowded, but so beautifully decorated! It was especially fun at night to see all the lights and fireworks.
We had breakfast at the Storytellers Cafe. Its a bit pricey, but really fun to get all the critters visit our table. Boyd and Lucy loved having their attention and were really cute.
Lucy was just dying to get her face painted and we finally agreed. It was so worth it to see her beaming!
One of our favorite rides was the Mickey Ferris Wheel with the sliding track.
Daisy loves being a big kid on Dad's shoulders.
Boyd and Lucy got Pirate and Princess makeovers. I expected Boyd to hate it and Lucy to love it, but I was wrong. Boyd loved all the pirate stuff and really loved his balloon sword and belt. Lucy threw a huge tantrum because the girl ratted her hair and sprayed it blue (I don't know why), but too bad she wasn't able to enjoy the rest of that party.
We had a really fun banquet dinner that night with a pirate show and yummy, fancy food. I didn't get any pictures of it, cause Daisy decided to flip out for most of it.
The last day at Disneyland, we got up early to get to some last minute rides before the crowds. It was the best time- we got in about 5 rides in an hour, almost more than the entire previous 2 days. We got to have a breakfast with the princesses before the full travel day.
See how much Daisy loved it? Such a weirdo, she would wave and yell "Rella" to all the princesses, but when they came over she would scream and cry at them.
Lucy really loved getting her picture with all the pretty princesses and her favorite Snow White.
