Crafty time

Look at these cute little crafts we made on Saturday! I thought I better take a picture before my cats ruin them. Homer has the idea that they are his new toys or something. I keep finding the bird in odd places and I've already had to repair the snowman twice. I haven't put out the other Christmas decorations yet, but I'm worried they won't last very long for Homer's first Christmas.
I've got tons more gift tags to make out of cute paper if anyone else wants to join in!

I just gotta show you

My little Daisy is the weirdest girl I know. She's so funny, smart, and so dang cute! She loves to sing nursery songs all the time now. The first one is "If you're happy and you know it," the second is "Slippery Fish" (the oh no part), and the last is "Snowman."

Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm totally copying my friend Janice and writing about what I am thankful for without stating the obvious usual stuff like "I'm thankful for my family."

I am thankful for Ken that he always takes care of all our electronic stuff including computers, tvs, iphones, games, movies, music, etc.
I am thankful for Lucy that she gets up most mornings to get Daisy out of her bed herself and they play together happily so I can stay in bed a little longer.
I am thankful for Boyd when he tries something new on his own even when he's nervous about it.
I am thankful for Daisy that she will still snuggle with me once in a while and she always answers "Yeah?" when I call her name.
I am thankful when my 2 cats lay on my feet on a cold night.
I am thankful that Ken shovels the snow, mows the lawn, and unclogs toilets every time the kids put too much toilet paper and sandwiches in the potty.
I am thankful that my in-laws make amazing dinners every Sunday.
I am thankful that I learned to make bread and rolls- it makes me happy that my kids eat it and makes my house smell good and it warms up the kitchen.
I am thankful to have a cool sisters-in-law to hang out with and talk to. I've got Jenna to take pictures of our family for free, and Joni for a great restaurant and a cute baby to hold.
I am thankful to have my big sis Kelly not too far away to be a good example of awesomeness.
I've got tons and tons more, but I'm afraid of being too boring to y'all. But you get the main idea- I'm thankful for my husband, kids, family, friends, house, cars, Ken's job, and all the little things that make me happy!

Happy Thanksgiving, Everyone!!!

Lucy's new haircut

This morning Lucy decided to cut her own hair. She got about half of one pigtail chopped off. I was pretty upset because I thought she knew better and she is always talking about how she wants really long hair. Grrr... well anyway, I took her over to Walmart this afternoon for a haircut and it looks pretty dang cute!

Lucy my Turkey!

I pretty much call her a turkey any time of the year, but this one is the best! I laughed out loud when I saw Lucy's Thanksgiving placemat- I LOVE it!
Today Lucy had her Thanksgiving Feast with her preschool class. They recited a Turkey poem (Lucy said Gwobble Gwobble!), then they read a Thanksgiving book and a good manners book, then each child got to help with one part of the meal. Lucy and I made rolls to bring and she got to spread the butter. Mmmm...

Not Much to say

Last night we got to see the new Harry Potter before everyone else and that was pretty awesome to walk past the freezing people camping outside in a long line. Ken's job is super cool for the perks and we love having fun things like movie nights.

Other than that, I don't have a whole lot going on. When people ask what I've been doing, I feel like a dummy saying "Nothing at all." Oh well, huh. Regular house mom stuff isn't very exciting to anyone else.

Daisy's been trying not to nap for me anymore, but can't always make it the whole day. Its pretty cute when she crawls up in bed to fall asleep on her own.

My drawing BOY!

Usually Lucy is my drawing star, but just recently Boyd has started drawing super cute pictures. Even a month ago, he could barely draw a smiley face and never wanted to even try, but now he can do people with bodies and his favorite thing- cats. I think Lucy was a catalyst in his sudden interest, however. She loves to draw all day everyday and make pictures for everyone she knows and I think Boyd wanted in.
Boyd drew a really funny "No Moms" sign for his room door (don't you love the hair?). I asked Boyd last night if moms aren't allowed in his room, how could I read him a story before bed. He said, "A magical ghost will do it!" What a little weirdo!

Big girl bed

We got a bed from Ken's grandparents a couple months ago and thought Daisy won't be big enough for that for a long time. The past week she asked to sleep in it and so we let her. She has gone to sleep no problem all week, but she has fallen out in the night twice. She just insisted on being big like everything else.
Yesterday Daisy had a rough day. In the morning she fell off the kitchen chair and bit through her lip- it was bleeding everywhere and she was screaming like a banshee! She also has this infected finger that started a few days ago and just got way worse even after neosporin and bandaids, so I took her into the doctor. I was also behind on getting her immunizations, so she got a bunch of shots, too! She got a fever last night and on top of all that, she is getting another giant molar!
One funny story at the doctor he said "I'm going to listen to your heart," and Daisy put up her hands and said "No no noooo TOUCHY!" The doctor just laughed at her and listened anyway.

A fall kind of day

It is totally great fall weather today and we are tying to take it all in before the freezing begins.
Daisy's been so funny when taking pictures, she always says "Cheese!" and just ends up looking weird, but good thing she's still a cute weirdo.
Lucy was telling me all about leaves (again)- she knows the parts and that leaves eat chlorophyll and Lucy eats apples. Funny girl!

Little miss Daisy loves trying to jump out of my arms to see herself upside down after a bath. She's hilarious!
I told Daisy to get some clothes from her room and she came out like this. Not quite appropriate fall attire, but still very funny and she knows it.
