Walt Disney was a genius! Ken's said this a bunch of times and its true. Who knew that 80 years later, Snow White would still be so charming and so re-watchable. Boyd and Lucy were so enthralled even in the first few minutes. That's actually a hard thing to do with Boyd. He usually has a hard time with new movies. He was sooo not interested in Cars, Ratatouille, or Wall-E to name a few- they don't have the same sweetness and charm as the old classic Disneys. They want to watch Snow White everyday, and sometimes Pinocchio too ( Boyd calls it "Yoki-yo"). There is ONE slight problem with the Snow White movie though... the dwarves say "SHUT UP!" And guess who picked up that little phrase around our house? Its so horrible... that's naughty talk here. I'm not really sure how to handle that one- it makes me cringe. On the up side, Lucy's soooo cute singing "Heigh ho" and "I'm wishing" around the house all day.
WALL-E absolutely has the same sweetness of classic Disney, that's why everyone loved it so much, it was like the films that no one makes anymore.
ReplyDeleteWALL-E is just like every film everyone makes anymore. No question it is sweet, but you can't replicate the singular genius of Walt Disney with a computer. Seventy years from now, children will still be watching Snow White.
