Girl's Camp and our 10 year anniversary!

Wow! It's been a busy week and I'm still recovering! Girl's Camp was fantastic!! I'm so glad I got to be a part of it this year! I got to know several of the girls well and I LOVE THEM! They are amazing girls, I kinda feel cool just knowing them :)

Tuesday early morning we were supposed to leave and during the night I got the stomach flu! I didn't sleep one bit and I had so much to do and get ready and I was supposed to drive, but I could not get off the bathroom floor. Boo! So I got some sleep that day and was able to come up to camp by late afternoon. Go me! Great timing, eh?

These 2 beautiful girls got me feeling right at home! Love them! This is right after our awesome make-up class!
Everything went so well and pretty smooth. The classes, speakers, and activities were so well planned out and so nice!  That night I got to do my craft! They turned out so cute!
I totally missed the photo op for all of the ones the girls made, they painted mason jars in different colors and quotes. I loved them all lit up around our camp site at night!

Oh, I almost forgot our cabin decorations! We came up on Monday with the YCL's to set up.
I made these tulle balls to hang along with the lights, and we hung up our bedside paper cones.
So cute, huh? They were mainly for our bedtime treats! Sorry it's blurry!
One of the fun things we did was first had a story "The Paper Bag Princess," then the girls made outfits out of trash bags for our fashion show. It was so fun!
We had lots of "special" moments...
We're the Gopher Girls!

I loved craft time! Woo! So cute!
There week was a success! I'm so glad I was there, but I sure did miss my husband since it happened to be our 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY!

My sweetheart made me this video for when I got home. I love it! Aren't we so freakin' adorable? The song was also on our dance mix for our wedding reception. I've watched it over and over! I won't get too mushy, but I LOVE YOU KEN! Happy 10 year anniversary!
All week I worked on my present, and it didn't quite work out how I planned, but I ended up tying some of our favorite candy and treats to each card and I wrote some of my favorite memories for each picture of us over the last 10 years. Thank you, Ken, for 10 AMAZING years together!

What's new

Well, I guess I just haven't been in the mood to blog lately, and I've been a little busy bee. I also started getting addicted to indexing and did over 1000 names in the last 2 weeks. I've also been getting ready for the young women camp coming next week! I'll try to post some pictures of the cute stuff after it's over.

A couple of weeks ago Boyd had his 1st grade program and he was so dang cute! He sang all the songs very seriously!
He's in the back row kind of in the middle in a blue shirt. He was a dentist.
There were so many first graders that they had to walk onto the stage in shifts.

Boyd with his teacher, Miss Smith. She was so great and Boyd loved her! I'm hoping Lucy can get her next year.

Lucy learned how to ride her bike without training wheels! She did such a great job. Ken took off the training wheels and she wanted to try it all herself, no help. Within 15 minutes she had it down! Great job Lucy!
A couple days after Lucy rode her bike, Boyd decided he was ready, too! He needed quite a bit more help with his, but he is doing great!

Yesterday I went to cub scouts day camp! Woo! This is my third year going! I think they do such a great job with the boys and they got to do a bunch of fun stuff!
We are a bunch of goof balls for sure! Boyd gets to join my group (officially) in just a few months. After 2 full years of watching cubs, he said he MIGHT want to be a cub scout. Silly boy, he will love it!

Lucy's Recital

I'm not sure who was more excited for Lucy's dance recital- Daisy or Lucy.
Daisy had to wear her "costume" and pose for the pictures.
I made this chocolate cake for Ken's birthday. Yeah it was cute and delicious!
My beautiful girl!

All about Lucy

Lucy graduated from kindergarten on Friday! Her school program was so adorable I can't stand it! They sang a bunch of songs, I even teared up a bit at one of them- it was something like "cherish me while I'm small." Aw, I love that girl!
One of Lucy's parts was painting a picture to hold up to the song "What a Wonderful World" and that was just perfect for her. She's such an artist and was so excited to get the rainbow.
I loved their little graduation caps! There's her class.

San Diego 2

We went to Sea World!
Lucy's favorite thing was the dolphin show. It was really neat with all the acrobats.
We got into the Shamu show, too!
No, we didn't get wet... it was a little too cold for a front row seat.
We love these cute animals!

After 2 full days of parks, we had a rest day. We wanted to see the Sand Diego Temple and had a picnic.
Later, we took a walk around our hotel and marina.
The next day was for the San Diego Zoo!
Again, we got a ton of animal pictures!
We love to see all the big cats, Boyd was especially excited about them! These were a little harder to get good pictures because these were all in cages.
Boyd said he could just look at the cats all day long!
This leopard came right up to us! We were seriously 2 feet away from this beautiful guy!
Lucy was just dying to see the pandas (she has a stuffed one she takes everywhere).
There was an underground viewing are for the hippo. It was awesome, he came right up to the glass and opened his mouth wide. We were even a little too close for that.
Ken and Boyd were so excited to see the tigers. We probably spent the most time watching them.
We loved the sky ride

The polar bear is really that big standing up, I had no idea- neat!
This monkey was being cute rolling around in the grass and eating.
I think the kids were a little exhausted.
The last day we hung out at the beach. It was a but windy and cool, but pleasant enough for a picnic and some sand castle making.
And this is when my camera ran out of batteries- oops! But, seriously I think we had an overload of pictures. We were supposed to stay another day in Las Vegas, but we were ready to go home, so Ken drove through the night all the way home. It was so nice to have the kids asleep for most of the 12 hours. We had a really fun time and we are happy to be back home!
